On Aug. 12 at 10:00 a.m. John and I went to Shawnee Mission Med. Center so my labor could be induced and we could finally meet the new addition to our family. After 12 hours of labor, during which I was not progressing, we had still not met our baby so I finally got an epidural so I could give my body a much needed rest. 2 hours later with no progress being made we made the decision to have a C-section so we could finally meet our baby. Albert Benjamin Plaisance was born at 2:08 a.m. on Aug. 13, 2008. He was 8 lbs. 14.3 oz. and 20 in. long. The first name is in honor of John's grandfather Albert Plaisance who passed away in 1998, but we're calling him Ben.
