Ben continues to change every day. Here are some pictures we took over the weekend.

Does life get any better?

Ben is now 1 week old and continues to amaze us every day! He is a beautiful boy who already has a great personality. He's constantly moving and loves to work his hands, but you have to watch out for his left hook. He has a lot of fun with Dad when it comes to his diapers. His loud toots let Dad know when to change him, but Dad has been a little premature on a few and has had to hold up the diaper as the poo kept coming. This morning was his first day home alone with Mom and since he usually has fun with Dad when it comes to his diapers he had no choice but to turn it on with Mom today. There haven't been any poo issues, but he sprayed Mom pretty well this morning.

Ben

Ben is finally here! After months of not knowing whether we had a boy or a girl or revealing the names we had chosen for each the waiting is finally over. Shortly after being born Ben was welcomed to the world by both sets of eagerly awaiting and very proud (and probably very tired) grandparents. The next day Ben met 2 great-aunts, a great-uncle and 2 of his cousins. Shortly Ben will meet his aunts and uncles and the rest of his cousins in addition to many friends who have been very anxious to meet Ben. We can't wait to introduce him to the rest of the world!

Baby Day!

On Aug. 12 at 10:00 a.m. John and I went to Shawnee Mission Med. Center so my labor could be induced and we could finally meet the new addition to our family. After 12 hours of labor, during which I was not progressing, we had still not met our baby so I finally got an epidural so I could give my body a much needed rest. 2 hours later with no progress being made we made the decision to have a C-section so we could finally meet our baby.

Albert Benjamin Plaisance was born at 2:08 a.m. on Aug. 13, 2008. He was 8 lbs. 14.3 oz. and 20 in. long. The first name is in honor of John's grandfather Albert Plaisance who passed away in 1998, but we're calling him Ben.
